What to Expect

The Training Environment

We offer a relaxed environment for you to learn in. Our recently refurbished premises are small, yet perfectly formed - and we do our very best to make you feel at home. Feel free to bring your slippers!

We have toilet facilities and also a small kitchen area. Tea & Coffee is available free of charge throughout the day.

Where and how?

Our training centre and workshop is based in the Hanover area of Brighton. If you know the area our offices are right at the top of Southover Street on the roundabout. You can't miss our signage. If you're not familiar with Hanover or Brighton then you can find more details here.

As many of you may know parking in Hanover can be a slight problem, so if possible we would suggest walking, or catching the 37 or 37B bus which stops nearby. The walk up Southover Street keeps us all healthy!

Parking is currently free in the Hanover area, but can be a bit tricky to get a space near to us. Our training courses typically start at 9.30am. This was a conscious decision, as it seems to be the best time to try and find a nearby space.

More details and a map can be found here.

What shall I Bring?

Trainees will be provided with brand new iMacs to work on, these all run the latest operating system and software. If you would prefer to bring your own laptop then that's fine, but we ask that you make sure the operating system and software is up to date. Up to date means running the newest system software available. Currently that is 10.6 Snow Leopard. Feel free to ask us in advance if you are in any doubt.

Course notes will be provided at the beginning of the course, but we suggest bringing a pen and note pad to jot as you learn. Making notes in your own words is sometimes easier to learn from at a later date.

What about Food & Drink?

There's nothing like a free lunch* in our opinion, so we've teamed up with one of Hanovers finest public houses, The Dover Castle to offer all our trainees a lunch from their menu. You can choose any meal and a non-alcoholic drink. Our favourite is the Halloumi sandwich with roasted peppers! If you would rather bring your own lunch then feel free to do so, we're happy to heat your lunch up for you.

Tea & coffee will be available from our kitchen and offered at regular intervals throughout the day. This is free of charge.

Soft drinks and snacks are available, all at reasonable prices.

If you have any special requirements then please let us know in advance, and we will do everything we can to accommodate you. We want you to be comfortable, that way you will obtain the maximum benefit from our courses.

*Okay okay, the price is factored into the training fee but, it's still a good deal and means you can budget for the day, or provide your staff with a small but very welcome perk! Lunch is only included on our full day or longer courses.

Will my brain explode?

To help shoehorn all the super useful information into your super absorbent minds, we've split the day into three parts:

Part One 9:30am - 11:30am

We then break for drinks and a quick chat.

Part Two 12:00pm - 1:30pm

Break for Lunch

Part Three 2:30pm - 4:30 / 5:00pm (depending on how the day progresses)
