Okay so we wanted to listen to BBC radio or any radio station in fact but didn't want the pop up window to
be visible which gets in the way of everyday work, so we decided to find a way round it.
It's pretty straight forward here's how.
Go to the BBC Radio website of your choice and find the listen live option. It's typically at the top of the website. Click listen live and a pop up window should appear. This popup is the BBC Radio player which is great because it gives programme info and DJ info etc etc.
Dashboard has a feature that allows you to copy a webclip from any webpage. Effectively this pop up window is a webpage so this works.
This is what you need to do next now that you have your pop radio player.
Right click or (ctrl click if you have right click disabled) on your mouse in the top part of the pop up window. Then click open in dashboard.

You will then see a square appear on the pop up window. Move this square to select the area you want to make you player. Then click Add at the top.
This will place the square on your dash board so you can access it at anytime by visiting your dashboard. The next step makes the web clip play whilst dashboard is closed which is what you want. Click the i at the bottom right corner of the clip, you may need to hover over the right corner to get the i to display. It will flip round. Un click the only Play audio in Dashboard.
That's it you're done. So now if you ever want to listen to Radio you simple open your dash board and it will start playing. Shut your dashboard and the radio will continue. When you want to check what's on or a playlist simple open the dashboard again... Simple and effective.
